Millionaire

Bourbon, Grand Marnier, grenadine, lemon, and an egg white, with four dashes of absinthe and grated nutmeg. A rich, foamy sour that earns the name.

A deep red Millionaire with a thick foam top dusted with nutmeg, in a stemless glass

Method

  1. Add the bourbon, Grand Marnier, grenadine, lemon juice, egg white, and absinthe to a cocktail shaker with ice.

  2. Shake hard. The egg white needs the work to turn into foam.

  3. Strain into a glass and grate nutmeg over the foam.

Notes from the line

The ½ oz. of grenadine is on the sweet side. Next time I would use less.

Four dashes of absinthe is enough. It should be a smell, not a flavor.
